COCAP organized a provincial and federal level consultation meeting titled ” Current Situation and Future Direction of Civil Society” in Biratnagar of Province 1 and Kathmandu of Bagmati Province dated 15 March, 2022 and 3 April, 2022 respectively.
Participants comprised of members of different Civil Society Organizations, representatives of Government Organizations, COCAP Volunteers and COCAP Staffs.
Major things discussed in the program were: ·
General overview of CIVIC Space· Present status and problems faced by CIVIL Society organizations and HRDs in recent times·
The role of Civil Society organizations in order to promote Civic Space ·
Solidarity and diversity among CSOs and Way forward
Resource person for Kathmandu program was Rakesh Karna, Executive Director at Center for Policy Studies and Governance whereas Senior Advocate Chudamani Acharya was the resource person for Biratnagar program. and Rakesh Karna – Bagmati Province – Kathmandu. In Province 1 – Biratnagar, program was chaired by Province 1 Coordinator of COCAP Prof. Dr. Raj Narayan Yadav and Chief Guest for the program in Bagmati Province – Kathmandu was Dr. Ram Kumar Phuyal, member – National Planning Commission.
