Various statistics shows that the situation of Human Rights is serious in Terai/Madhes districts whereas the problem of human trafficking as well as citizenship is getting worse by the day due to open border with neighboring India. Similarly, violence against women is comparatively high in Terai/Madhes on the basis of various data and analysis.
Considering the above-mentioned facts, COCAP, in collaboration with Madhesi Commission, recently organized a dialogue program on ‘Human Rights Concern and Challenges faced by HRDs in Madhes’ in Kathmandu on December 29.
The program was held in presence of Chief guest Honorable former Chairman of Constituent Assembly Subaschandra Nemwang and special guests including chairperson of various commissions and parliamentarian Sarala Yadav among others. The participants also included HRDs from Province 2 and Lumbini Province.
